Our Mission, Our Focus, Our Funding
The mission of the SANS Center is to address fundamental challenges of stroke, cerebrovascular disease and other neurological disorders through multidisciplinary research, education, and outreach

The SANS Center brings together talented researchers from across the many disciplines at the University of Washington and beyond to design and implement novel research and education that directly impacts clinical care and improves patient outcomes in stroke and other neurological disorders.

Our work has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, the Institute of Translational Health Sciences, The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, The Bee Foundation, The AVM and Aneurysm Foundation, the University of Washington Royalty Research Fund, Philips, Medtronic, Stryker, and Penumbra. In addition, we are constantly seeking to diversify our funding sources to conduct investigator-initiated research, host conferences, provide training and education, and support center operations.
Leadership
Together our team is working diligently to conduct research with real-world impact that we can bring directly to our patients.
